Recommended Times To Make Ghusl

1)  On Fridays:

Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri narrated that the Prophet (Sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “Ghusl on the day of Friday is obligatory on every post-puberty (person).”[1]

2)  Performing Ghusl for every separate act of sexual intercourse:

Abu Rafi narrated that the Prophet would visit his different wives during one night and make Ghusl for each one. Abu Rafi’ said to him, “O Messenger of Allah, can’t you just make it one?” he replied, “This is purer, better and more purifying.”[2]

3)  Performing Ghusl for every prayer by the woman who is Mustahadhah (A woman suffering from metrorrhagia or uterine haemorrhaging):

A’ishah narrated “Umm Habeebah had continuous bleeding during the time of the Messenger of Allah and he ordered her to make Ghusl for every prayer.”[3]

4)  Performing Ghusl due to washing a deceased person:

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Whoever washes a dead person, let him take a bath.” [4]

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet (Sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Whoever washes a dead person should take a bath (thereafter); and whoever carries it should perform ablution”.[5]

5)  Performing Ghusl prior to entering Makkah:

Abdullah Ibn Umar would not enter Makkah unless he would spend the night at Dhul-Tuwa until the morning and then make Ghusl and then enter Makkah during the daytime. He narrated that the Prophet had done that.[6]
